Happy New Year! Thank you again for your support in 2015. Now, we begin.
My four-year term as your Broad Run representative on the School Board starts today. Officially, I'll be sworn in with the rest of the board on January 4 at 6pm at the School Administration building. Then, we're off and running. The newly sworn-in board has our first meeting right after that, a short organizational meeting to name our chair and vice-chair. Next up, Superintendent Williams presents his budget on Thursday, January 7, and we have our first regular Tuesday meeting scheduled for January 12.
With your support, together we were able to overwhelmingly win the 2015 election. In order to have success over the next four years, I'm still going to need your help. I'm only one of 9 board members, but I'm hopeful that our board can work with each other to get some real good accomplished.
The budget is where that starts. I expect to see a request that includes expanding full-day kindergarten, maintaining class sizes while handling our growth, and keeping our employee compensation competitive. I'll keep you informed and I need you to stay involved.
Please use my new School Board contact information for any School Board-related communication now, and don't hesitate to reach out –
