Joy Maloney shows strong support in first quarter
ASHBURN, Virginia – April 16, 2015 – Joy Maloney announced today that she raised over $6,700 during the first quarter of 2015 for her campaign for the Broad Run seat on the Loudoun County School Board. Kevin Kuesters, the incumbent Broad Run district School Board member, reported no contributions for the same period.
“I’m ecstatic at the level of support I’ve received. People I’ve talked to are responding that we need to make a change for the best. They tell me they appreciate my support of our schools and want a School Board representative with my professionalism, passion and dedication,” Maloney said. “I am thankful for everyone’s investments so far.”
Maloney has been a strong advocate for education as Support Our Schools – Loudoun. She has attended Board of Supervisor and School Board meetings, personally contacted elected officials, and kept citizens informed on school-related issues. Maloney also has served as Vice President of the Loudoun Education Alliance of Parents (LEAP) for the past year, planning and coordinating LEAP’s programs. She has been involved in numerous other volunteer activities for the community as well.
Maloney has worked in the information technology field since serving as a high school mathematics teacher for five years after college. She holds a Masters in Educational Leadership. Her 15-year-old daughter has attended Loudoun County Public Schools since first grade. Maloney and her family have lived in the Broadlands the past 14 years.
